What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary and holistic therapy thought to date back to ancient Egypt. It aims to encourage a sense of well-being and relaxation by using a technique of applying pressure to different parts of the feet to have a corresponding effect on other areas of the body.

75 per cent of all illness are thought to be related to stress. Stress can make us more susceptible to illness by compromising our immune systems. The relaxing effect of stimulating more than 7,000 nerves in the feet during a Reflexology treatment may help to reduce stress and tension and create a sense of well-being.

A series of treatments may help to:

  • Improve mood
  • Aid sleep
  • Improve blood circulation
  • Relieve tension and stress
  • Improve sense of wellbeing
  • Improve relxation

That's just to mention some beneficial effects, it's also a very enjoyable experience.

What made me decide to study Reflexology?

When I was suffering from a bad shoulder injury I was recommended by a client to try Reflexology.

I admit that I was sceptical at first but after my first session I manage to get a good night sleep, something I had not managed for months due to the pain. I also felt a lot calmer and able to deal with the pain. After the second session the effects were even more powerful. I experienced less pain and felt in a better mood and again my sleep was improved.

For me personally Reflexology is very effective but as with all holistic treatments individual results will vary.

For a lovely relaxing ending to a training session you now have a chance to try it for FREE with the kickstart programme or you can add it to a training session at a reduced price or book it on its own. Please see price page for further information.

I only use 100% vegan and vegetarian oils, creams and lotions when doing the treatment or massage
